Purpose

• Authorize the city of Marshall to issue an on-sale license for wine and malt liquor (intoxicating liquor) to Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) for on-campus use at specified university spaces and events.

Main Provisions

• Notwithstanding other laws, ordinances, or charter provisions to the contrary, Marshall may issue an onsale wine and malt liquor license to SMSU.
• The license may cover space that is “not compact and contiguous” as long as all space is within SMSU campus boundaries and is described in the licensed premises on the license application.
• Sales under this license are allowed on all days of the week to people attending events at the Schwan Regional Event Center and at the RecreationAthletic Facility.
• Sales are subject to the hours and days restrictions in Minnesota Statutes chapter 340A and any reasonable license conditions or restrictions set by the licensing authority.
• All other provisions of Minnesota Statutes chapter 340A apply to this license, as long as they are not inconsistent with this section.
