Purpose

This bill provides a one-time funding allocation to support youth and young adults by improving employment readiness and exposing them to career opportunities in Minnesota.

Funding and Administration

• Geographic scope: serving teens in Hennepin, Ramsey, Stearns, Carver, and Olmsted Counties and surrounding areas

These activities are intended to foster hope, self-sufficiency, and positive career pathways for participants.

• Target: youth and young adults at risk of or experiencing homelessness
• Goals: help participants gain employment readiness and exposure to career opportunities; support them in breaking cycles of poverty and avoiding exploitation or chronic instability

• This is a one-time appropriation, not ongoing funding, designated to support the grant to 180 Degrees from the workforce development fund.
